In brief: The Newspapers in Education program provides no-cost classroom sets of newspapers to teachers in Washington and Benton counties, and locates support for these papers from local businesses. Your sponsors are thanked in a variety of ways including names and logos printed quarterly in NIE thank you advertisements, plus thank you letters from students at the end of the year. To support your needs for up-to-date data regarding current events across all topics, I’ve attached an ORDER FORM for you to fill out and return to me by fax or snail mail. By receiving these papers you will agree to a few commitments to NIE: a) all teachers must sign an affidavit at year’s end stating they received and used the papers with their students; b) agree to ask students to write thank you letters to their sponsors and mail them (a list will be provided to you); c) contact me should you have problems with delivery, changes to your quantity, or to pass along sponsor ideas. I take care of stopping the papers for major holiday breaks. You may order a minimum of five per class, or up to one copy per student.
